Starting today in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade, is the inaugural Gaming Expo Belgrade, the first event of this type in the south-east European region.

Serbia has been noted recently for its economic development, helped by an increase in tourism. The show takes place in the 3,500sq.m Belgrade Fair Hall today, tomorrow and Thursday and features 67 exhibitors from 21 countries.

Casinos Austria International is using the show to announce its first casino opening in Belgrade. The company paid the city €18m for a 10-year licence, and will reveal its plans at a press conference later today.

Organiser Congrexpo expected the event to attract more than 4,000 visitors from Serbia and other south-east European countries, as well as from the rest of the world.
