EVERY social space needs a focus - a word that is itself derived from “fireplace or pit” - that would have been the very first centrepiece attraction for groups of people from the beginning of time.
In a pub or tavern - the focus might be a sweeping bar, in a restaurant it might be a central open kitchen. And in a casino it is likely to be a multi-station, or multiplayer game.
