Grenada’s House of Representatives approved legislation to legalise casino gambling in August 2014. After being referred to the Senate for final approval the Senate duly followed the lower house two weeks later to approve the legislation.

The legislation would allow hotels with a capacity of more than 300 rooms to apply to operate a casino on the same property as the hotel. It also prohibits Grenadian nationals (and persons under 18 years) from participating, at a penalty of an ECD10,000 (US$3,700) fine.
