InterGaming reports back from the ever-impressive London show.
NOVOMATIC once again emphasised that it had “the largest stand at any gaming trade show in the world in history” at last month’s ICE show in London.
At its 10th first morning press conference at the 21st ICE, communications director David Orrick announced that the group now has a total of 22,000 employees worldwide. “We have the biggest stand here but it’s down to your judgement whether or not it is the best,” he said.
He added that the company had gone through some changes recently before introducing new Novomatic CEO Harald Neumann. “2014 has been another record year for Novomatic in terms of both our manufacturing and operating activities,” he said.
“We have gained new licences in both Spain and the US and we are sure that our success will continue. We are the biggest and we are the best.”
The group’s UK arm, Astra Games, became Novomatic UK during the year and CEO Zane Mersich said: “Novomatic UK brings together what we have built in the UK over the past few years in terms of land-based gaming but also mobile and online. “One of the main highlights was 2014 was the acquisition of Luxury Leisure, formerly the Noble Organisation, which has over 80 gaming premises in the UK. We also acquired the UK’s largest operator, Gamestec, so our high street presence in the country is huge. We now have over 2,000 employees in the UK and look forward to further growth over the long term.”
CTO Thomas Graf added: “The backbone of Novomatic is innovation and technology. We now have more than 1,000 R&D personnel.” The star product among many innovations at the show was the Dominator Curve, the successor to the Dominator platform, which comes with a 40ins full HD touchscreen.
